Titus Regional Medical Center needed to upgrade its radiotherapy vault to support more precise treatment delivery
Titus Regional Medical Center (TRMC) needed to upgrade its existing radiotherapy vault and linear accelerator to support more precise treatment delivery and expand clinical capabilities at CancerCARE at Titus—Patty & Bo Pilgrim Cancer Center. Shutting down the vault during construction was not an option for the cancer center or the surrounding community, as it would force patients to delay care or travel long distances to the nearest treatment facility. TRMC needed a way to maintain full treatment capacity throughout the upgrade without compromising patient care or disrupting daily operations.
The Solution
RAD provided TRMC with the RAD Temp, a fully functional temporary radiotherapy facility installed adjacent to CancerCARE at Titus.
The RAD Temp delivered a seamless solution that included:
- A pre-commissioned linear accelerator ready for immediate clinical use
- Reception, waiting, administrative, and restroom areas
- A relocatable eight-module design assembled onsite in just two days
- A safe, efficient treatment environment that mirrors permanent vault standards
This interim facility ensured TRMC could maintain full continuity of care while modernizing its permanent vault and upgrading to next-generation treatment technology. With the RAD Temp in place, physicians and staff continued normal operations with minimal disruption, and patients experienced no interruption in their treatment schedules.
